Pink Saturday from California

For those who read my blog regularly you know I have been posting photos of our recent trip to the Central Coast of California. But, for Beverly & all the girl's joining us for PINK Saturday http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/, welcome to California. I fell in love with this Fuchsia Bloom! I have always loved Fuchsias but this one is amazing. It has such marvelous DEEP colors & is HUGE!!!!!!!

you can see the size with the comparison of "Honey's" hand. Do you love this?

Here is another Fuchsia but, this one is not nearly as deep in color.

This is Holman's Department Store in Pacific Grove, California. The building is painted PINK & has this wonderful stained glass window above the entrance. I LOVED THE BUTTERFLIES flying near the ocean!!! Pacific Grove is known as the Monarch Butterfly Capitol! They even have a Nature Preserve set up for them in town. Wouldn't that be a site to see for real... the butterflies by the ocean. This so speaks to my heart!

Here is a view from a bit further away. This window is LARGE!

And while driving from Pacific Grove to Monterrey I noticed this sign. The next day "Honey" & I made a stop in the Archive & got to view some Thomas Kincaid originals. Thomas lives near this area & this Gallery is owned by his best friend from High School. We were also able to view this historic old home. I just LOVE old homes that have been restored.

Interesting color scheme don't you think? Kind of PINK & kind of salmon.

I hope you all enjoyed a little glimpse of some PINK from California. Now blink twice & go visit the other girls playing today (or just click on the link or button on my sidebar). Have a great weekend & know I am wishing I was back in the cool of the California coast instead of the blistering heat here in TEXAS!

  1. Happy Pink Saturday. Yes, I try to post early, because my Saturdays are busy, especially when the sun is shining. California is always a sunshine delight, just look at those Fuchsia. I love that pink Department store. Oh Thomas Kincaid. We bought an original when we lived in Hong Kong and desperate for a bit of Western artwork. It is still my favorite painting.

Happy Pink Saturday. Your trip looks wonderful.

  4. How lovely! Your blog is always such a pleasure to visit on Pink Saturday! Today it's sunny but most of this summer has been pretty gloomy in my corner of the world. Pink Saturday always gives me a little lift, especially if there isn't any sun outside!

Have a wonderful weekend filled with sunshine surrounded by your l♥ved ones! Life is good!
