Trailer Dreams or Homes Away from Home

100_4303

Trailer Dreams????? What?????????? Those of you who know me KNOW I am NOT a camping girl!!!!!! Well, not in the typical camping style…

My idea of roughing it is a hotel with no room service!!!!!!

I have friends that have amazing LITTLE trailers (the one above in named BOSS LADY & belongs to my friend La Verne)that they have fixed up into little dream machines! And they travel with other girls that have this sort of trailer & they play, shop, & visit the whole weekend long. Many of them belong to a group called Sisters on the Fly. I WOULD LOVE TO DO THAT!

100_4306

This beauty is a little dream done in western style. Click HERE to see more of this treasure in an earlier post. The inside (see it in the other post) IS ADORABLE! But, Laverne doesn’t have just ONE of these tiny jewels but, TWO!!!! The second one is named Lillie Pearl (after her Grandmother) & is decorated in a very Magnolia Pearl decor!

To the left is a peek at her bed that is decked out in luscious vintage fabrics. And to the right above is the sink area. Notice that there are marble countertops! NOT CAMPING!!!! It’s more glamorous & is called GLAMPING!

100_4325

The seating area (which folds down to make another bed) has the table removed & really shows the amazing fabrics she has used on the sofa cushions. And LACE everywhere!!!!! I adore the beautiful pillows once again using luscious fabrics

The walls are covered in old rugs & carpets that have been cut to fit. And I LOVE all the different light fixtures. Note the vintage one in the photo of the sink area above.

Carpeted Wall collage

And let’s look at the stoves… Styles so very different! The one on the left is Lilly Pearl & the one on the right is Boss Lady (also, note the difference in the walls/paneling in each). The little details like the velvet pin cushion on the little yellow stove is 2 Die 4 cute don’t you think? And the use of the teal colored vintage tin used on the front of the stove in Boss lady & the weathered wood siding with of course…. Texas Stars for handles for drawer pulls. Stoves collage

What does all of this have to do with my Trailer Dreams?????? Well, I can’t do the Sisters on the Fly trailer for me right now but, Hubby & I did finally find a trailer for us! For us to be able to take to the lake for the weekend to use with our deck boat (platoon boat/party boat… call it whatever you want) & to ESCAPE the horrible TEXAS HEAT in the summers!

Outside 1

Our new Home Away from Home… My new cottage on wheels. She is 34 feet long with two slide outs that make her feel VERY roomy! I have a LONG WAY TO GO in getting her where I want her….. And since I have to share with Hubby I can’t fou fou her up toooooooooooooooooooo much! But, I can tell you one darn thing… there will be redecorating & fluffing going on for months before she is anywhere ready for my taste!!!! Glamping here I come! As I do start our travels I am hoping to be able to finally meet some of you girls (that I blog with all the time) in person. As we travel… I can plan visits to meet so many of my new (& OF COURSE CURRENT ) friends. I’m giddy with anticipation.

I am linking to Ceilo’s Show Off Your Cottage Monday Blog Party to show my new “Cottage on Wheels”. Click the button to go visit her & the other girls playing! And come back soon. Maybe next week I will show you LaVerne’s daughter’s adorable trailer Lolita!!!!! And of course… I’ll be showing other photos as the decorating begins.

Have a beautiful week my precious friends!

HUGS! Charlene

Hi Charlene:
LOVE the Sisters On The Fly and their adorable campers. Glad to see that we're not the only ones with a new coach this year. Yours is bigger than ours, but we (you family or mine) won't have to worry about hotels, airlines, kennels for pups and restaurant meals.

Happy Trails, my friend.
xoxo

I am salivating. I want a vintage camper so badly. I am currently looking for one, but whenever I find an ad for one, it's sold before I can move on it. I am not going to give up though, I WILL own a canned ham!

I think your new "cottage on wheels" would be more comfortable. The frou frou trailers are cute to look at but would drive me nuts, I am afraid! Too confined.

Thanks for stopping by my Memorial Day table. You will have to share your travel adventures with us.

Oh, you cute thing, you...I love these little trailers, too, and would DIE for one. I think it would be so much fun to fix up and then go WITH THE GIRLS. I want a small one (those little rounded top ones) that I could pull behind my SUV.
Your new DREAM TRAILER is just beautiful. I know you will enjoy it so much. Now, ya gotta stay away from the lace..your hubby might not like too much of that. :)))
Have fun...
O and I am signing up to follow. Come follow me and maybe we'll meet in the middle and show ea other our cute trailers. :))

OK Miss Charlene, YOU GOT IT! Now - just bring it to California and you will be set! I want to see the inside!
The cute little vintage trailers would be fun - don't ya think? But...I am spoiled! I want all the modern conveniences, like lots of water and AIR CONDITIONING!
And lots of room to store stuff that I buy along the way.
But we can all dream can't we?
Love your new "cottage". Maybe next spring you can be out here with us wine tasting!!!
BTW, if you plan on staying in Piso with Riki, make your reservations NOW! They are one year out...:(
Congratulations!
HUGS! Karen

Ooooooh, I can see some "CSI" adventures in the near future! I found a real fixer upper that was painted pink at my local place and I even stepped in side of it and pictured it all done up. Of course, it would have to be parked across the street from the house and I'm pretty sure it would become my new home if I even thought about bringing it home. Would have been a cute playhouse, though. I'll be living through you my friend.

Can't wait!

I love the trailer!!! I so wish we had kept our old one after seeing all the great ways to make them cute here in blogland. We just gave it to a friend when we moved to CO and now I am looking for one again!

Hi Charlene, I'm not a camping girl either BUT you could easily convince me to stay overnight in one those two cute campers - at least for a night or two :-).
I'm sure your trailer has quite some comfort and when you are finished decorating it, it will be very cozy and welcoming. Have fun fluffing it up!
Hugs to you,
Julia

Sooo far behind in visiting...Love LaVerne's wheels and I know you'll have some fun giving yours a touch of Charlene!
I did take a class with KC when she came to Taylor in April. The Dec. class is her book collage, right? I took a lot of pics so I could be inspired to create my own. I'm also having fun selling some of my pieces, although I hate to part with them. They're my little babies.
Weekend Blessings to ya ;-)
