Pretty Pink from Cassandra for Pink Saturday

Box Top

Hello my sweets!!!! Sorry I’ve been MIA in Blogland but, I have had company & then some more company… And while I’ve been out eating & playing I’ve missed my friends here. I had my precious friend Susan here for 5 whole days & we had a blast! But, let’s show you some Pretty Pink for Pink Saturday!

Treasures Inside

Back in March while attending Moulin Rouge Art Event in California (by the fabulous Kim Caldwell) I won the door prize given by Cassandra of An Artful Adventure. And this stunning box is full of TREASURES! Wonderful lace & old fiber treasures! THANK YOU Cassandra! I love them all but, just can’t make myself use any of it!!!! Look how she stuffed it full of millinery flowers, old lace, tatting, shinny fibers… all calling calling calling to me! But, for now it’s all in my guestroom on the dresser where when I pass I see the beautiful pieces of BLING winking at me.

I know this one isn’t pink but, come on… how could I not share her? Where did they come from?

Glitter Market at The Paper Crown in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma My amazingly talented friend Jackie of Good Grief Girdie had tables full of treasures. I had to borrow photos from her because when I walked in the door 3 minutes after it opened… it was already totally covered with people(who had been standing in line & then they MOBBED her table)! I couldn’t even see what all I wanted. If it wasn’t for my long arms reaching OVER people… I wouldn’t have gotten what I did! Click above on Good Grief Gertie to see more photos from the event.

The dresser in my guest room shows off 2 of these little jewels.

And the other one sits on a display shelf next to my recliner(along with a few other treasures I love).

One more goody I got that day… This sweet vintage butter dish with the German porcelain doll head is hanging in my kitchen. Hubby is just not loving all the doll heads but, they are a touchstone to my precious Grandmother that bought a kit & made me one of these dolls along with an entire wardrobe…

Pink Saturday & Flowers for Reba

Welcome to PINK Saturday! I haven't played in the PINK for awhile. But, these beauties had to be shared. Last week was a very HARD week for me. I had to put my precious friend down on Thursday the 18th (if you want to know details or to CRY go HERE). The next day I could NOT stay in my house. So, my friend & I went to Central Market which is a high end grocery store. They had the most beautiful tulips on sale. I bought TWO! One bunch for me & one bunch for the princess.

I think tulips are so wonderful because they are like the promise of spring in the cold of winter. These seemed appropriate. All week I enjoyed them & watched how they changed. Kind of like my emotions.

The petals opened... the differences in the light made for pretty PINK pictures.

As you can tell they are on the counter in front of my sink looking into the great room. So they were there every morning to greet me, there when passing through, & there when & cooked & cleaned up supper. And on Wednesday this is how they looked on their final day. BEAUTIFUL!!!! Look at the glorious sunshine coming in all my window (& we needed it after grey, cloudy, snowy days). There is light at the end of a tunnel.

Thank you for stopping by today & be sure to click on the PINK Saturday button on my sidebar to go thank our hostess Beverly & the other girls that are playing today.

Pink Saturday & A Few Treasures

Beverly & I want to welcome you to another PINK Saturday! While you are reading this I have gone to my Heart of Communion Art Event. This is being held in an old church that has been turned into a home/art studio. Be sure & click HERE to see this wonderful blog. Also, please come back in a few days to see photos & a post of the event. But, in the meantime I wanted to share the PINK vignette on top of my refrigerator. I have the wonderful vintage oil lamp I shared with you in the past PINK post, a pot of PINK flowers, my canister of hot cocoa mix, a Valentine plate, a PINK flowered creamer, a crystal paper weight & some scrabble tiles spelling the word LOVE. Speaking of LOVE... I want to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my precious husband. This is one of those "big" Birthdays & I think it is bothering him just a bit. Happy Birthday Honey you are the light of my life!
This is the sweet crystal paper weight I was telling you about. It is in the shape of a little tea pot. Suspended in the crystal is a beautiful PINK rose. My dear friend Susan gave this to me a couple of years ago. I LOVE it! And this adorable little creamer belonged to my mother's mother. It was given to me by my sweet Aunt Sharon & Uncle Mel. When his mother died Uncle Mel had gotten this pitcher from her things & when we were up to visit them one summer (in their beautiful log cabin in Cripple Creek, Colorado) they gave it to me. THANK YOU for sharing this family treasure.
Enjoy this marvelous PINK Saturday & be sure to click the button on my sidebar to go visit some other the other girls playing today. HUGS!

Pink Staurday & Blossom Time Tea Pot

Welcome once again to PINK Saturday hosted by Beverly (click to visit). Today my house is decorated for fall & it is cool & feels like fall. But, I snuck into my china hutch to bring out a touch of PINK to share with you. I have been collecting the china pattern named Blossom Time for a long time now. Above you will see the sweet tea pot & a beautiful PINK cup & saucer(which are not Blossom Time but, I think it looks pretty with this pattern).
The photo above is the lid to the tea pot. Do you love the detail as much as I do? The whole pattern is based on a lane winding through a field of trees in full bloom. PINK BLOOMS!!!!
A close up of the side of the pot along with the sweetest flowers that Lisa & I found while at Round Top. They actually came off of a vintage hat that Lisa bought & cut apart(I later found a different hat in a different color scheme so we traded some of the flowers with each other).
Another view of these precious flowers. I'm sorry my photos are not wonderful but, as many of you know my camera is on the blink. The button is stuck down for no flash & won't come back up... I'm camera shopping & making due.
Both the Blossom Time (made by Royal Albert) & this sweet little PINK tea cup are made in England. The pink set has a very slight crazing starting on all four cups, saucers, & tea plates but, I think that just adds charm. Hope you have a wonderful PINK Saturday & be sure to visit the other girls playing today.

Pink Saturday at Round Top

Thank you Beverly for hosting PINK Saturday again! This weeks post continues (see previous 2 posts to catch up on all the events) with the trip Lisa & I took to Round Top Antique Fair. Today the main star is the booth of Robin Brown AKA Magnolia Pearl. Have you seen her or know of her? If not check out her website & clothes. She also has a book out about her house. VERY INTERESTING! Now, I like different styles as well as the next girl & I have bought a jacket made in Magnolia Pearl style (from Jana) & I was just chomping at the bit to see Robin's booth at Marburger Farm. Here's the entrance. See all the dyed lace. PINK, purple, aqua, every color imaginable.
And the other side decorated with old toe shoes hung on the outside of the tent. This space was a MOB of women in a feeding frenzy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is Robin with a customer showing her wares. Again, PINK, purple green lace everywhere! Nothing under $200. I looked at embroidered pantaloons for $400. Gosh didn't bring those home!
See the mannequin with the PINK lace on the dress! Some of her things were really cute. So would love to have some & have the figure to look like some of her darling little sales girls. If you go on her site... watch the UTube with her car... a Rolls Royce body put on a 4x4 Truck that she drives all over her ranch in Bandera. OK................................ Hey girls, I'm broadening your horizons. Hee Hee
Below is a dress. ??????????????? A little of this & a little of that. And then we had the male version of fashion.
Walking down the isle of one of the tents was this gentleman. Lisa & I named him "Dapper Dan". He was wearing PINK wide wale corduroy pants, a PINK vest, blue & white striped shirt with a navy jacket. All the chains & Bling on his vest. Complete with walking cane.
He had one pant leg tucked in his boot & one not! But, he'd been shopping.
And some more shopping. Later at lunch we saw him with a hat on. Not the type I would of thought for him. A HUGE frumpy old Miner styled hat. What a HOOT he was. You can see it all at an event like this. Now, click on my sidebar & go see Beverly & the other girls playing PINK. See if they have anything that matches this craziness! If you have stopped by PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT & LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! Have a great weekend.
