A Visit With Riki Schumacher

This is Riki my teacher…. (If you missed the post about that go click HERE to see more about our amazing class).

And this is my friend Riki with her sweet little Maddie. I was blessed to spend a few days after my amazing Charming Romance Class with Riki, her precious hubby & Maddie (whose nickname is now Cup Cake just like my Elle’s but, that is another story entirely). In the photo above we were out for our walk on Avila Beach. It was so much fun.Avila Beach collage

The charming little town of Avila Beach rebuilt after a terrible oil spill ruined what it used to be. Now the pier, the new homes/condo’s & the charming shops & restaurants.

But, always present… The Beautiful OCEAN! But, let’s head back to Riki’s.

This Bird of Paradise flower greeted me at her front door. The flowers & trees were all in bloom. Let’s go inside & see where the magic is made!

BONJOUR!!! Hello/Welcome!!!! That’s right! Into her studio where she makes amazing jewelry & other designs. Where she is surrounded by her toys & treasures(those doll heads crack me up & there’s BEVO the Texas Long Horn that Diane Cook gave her when she came to Round Top with us last year).Doll Head collage

I love the color of the robin egg blue walls. The accent of the sweet vintage yellow shelf. She has a passion for those pretty cut crystal bottles & cruet sets just like I do. We both bought a few in Round Top.

And look at all those tools on her worktable!!!!!!!!! How many hammers are stored in a silver coffee pot at your house? Well she has a bunch in hers. And darn it the ones (silver pitchers not hammers) I bought last year are still out at Sandy’s in a suitcase that needs shipping…

A pretty chandi & balloon valance.

Treasures found. Speaking of treasures…. Would you like to make some?

LOVE this gals style but, let me tell you that you can’t find a cuter, funnier, spunky little sprite to help you find your way in the world of jewelry design than Riki Schumacher. And click HERE to see more details in taking this class March 3rd at Gilding the Lilly in Fullerton (near LA). I know Sandy & another girl from our Charming Romance Class plan to be there.

Hope you enjoyed the tour of Riki’s studio. And I hope you’ll find a good place to take one of her amazing classes. Now that so many teachers are offering online classes there are so many opportunities to learn without ever leaving the comfort of your own home. Be BRAVE! DO IT!!!! You won’t be sorry!

HUGS! Charlene

Awwwww, you make me feel so special Charlene! What sweet words, and love seeing my space through your eyes. Ah, the beach and ocean speaks to me as well, sigh. Can't get enough of it. Come back soon and often, Maddie is ready to steal another sweet when you aren't looking! Loved having you in class, keep practicing, you will master it all! Xoxox Riki

Oh my....I am swooning over here at my house - wish I had all the space of her studio than just my little 10 X 10 room! And the beach....oh how I wish I was back in my little town of Gilroy so I could visit the nearby beaches. Can't wait for May....I will surely get my fix in L.A. - yippee!
Riki truly is a gem of a lady and she certainly does share all of her "secret" of the trade when it comes to making jewelry. I just love her and her energy!
Have a great day! I'm back to my studio to create more things for vendor night at Tiffany's!
