Guardian Angel For Hubby & Thank you to my Friends

I have decided to adopt this beautiful angel to be sweet Hubby's Guardian Angel. Doesn't she look like she is looking down on someone? And I have to THANK each & every one of you for your sweet comments, emails, phone calls & PRAYERS (PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING). A quick update... after seeing the cardiologist yesterday it is determined that he will have open heart surgery. We don't have a date scheduled yet because there are two more tests that they want done (he will be hospitalized for those 2 tests). After getting the information from those tests an appointment with the surgeon will be scheduled & a date will be set. They are telling him that this is "as big a surgery as there is". SCARY FOR SURE! But, we are both staying very positive, praying, & are so thankful that this was found before something terrible happened. The doctor has asked him to not do anything physical that could strain the aneurysm but, has cleared him to drive & even OK'd him going to some jobs with our son (who works for us) as long as he just works with the computer & talks with the client while our son does the physical stuff. As the doctor said... "this has probably been there for at least a month or more & probably 6 months or more. The difference now is WE KNOW it is there & he needs to be careful. Sweetie is insisting that I go to Les Sirenes Art Event which he gave me for my birthday. He said "I'm a grown man & I know I need to be careful & this is all paid for so you go have fun because when this surgery is done neither of us will have fun for awhile & besides all we'll do is sit around & watch TV & we'll have plenty of time for that". IS THAT THE SWEETEST???? When we were in the waiting room yesterday waiting for the doctor to look at his EKG & Ecocardiogram he (being a very mechanical kind of guy)said "well I hate this but, I'm glad they can fix it. I'd rather have this than cancer because the treatment for that leaves so many other things messed up". Sooooooooooooo now we wait... the doctor is going on vacation until the 26th & then we have to have the other tests which have to all fit into the doctor & the hospital's schedules as far as availability. It's a waiting game, a ticking clock & just living on faith & prayers. THANK YOU again sweet friends for all of your support! I'll keep you posted. HUGS!

This must be causing a lot of wear on you as well so I am hoping that you go to the event. As you said, there will be a lot of inactivity after the surgery.

I am keeping your husband, you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Charlene - it sounds like both of you have your priorities set. All you can do is follow your Doctor's instructions and try and relax. I know - easier said than done. But they do absolutely amazing things nowadays- open heart surgery has come a long way over the past 25 years. They really have it down.
I'm praying for both of you - I know everything will go well. I think it'll be good for you to come out for Kim's event - it'll get your mind off things - if just for a little while. I wish I were in town that weekend to say hello - but I'll give Joy a hug to give to you :).
Keep us posted.
{{hugs}} and prayers!

Charlene- So sorry to hear about your husband's condition. That is so sweet that he still wants for you to attend Les Sirenes, especially since it's his b-day gift to you. What a guy! Hang in there, keep your faith, and I will keep both of you in my prayers. Hopefully I see you next week?

WOW Charlene...where have I been? How did I miss this info? Thank goodness they found something now and not later. Today's technology is amazing and I'm sure with his very good surgeon and the support of you and your family, he will do well.
Take care of yourself. I know your under a lot of stress and that can creep up on you. If I was closer we'd do something to keep your mind off of it temporarily.

Sending prayers, good thoughts, positive karma and a big HUG!!

Bless his heart! Thank you for the update. It is a huge and scary surgery but I have been through it with many family members that have had up to 5 bypasses at once and they are all great as can be now! He will do great and there are amazing doctors in Houston area. So glad that you are going to get to go to CA still.
You guys are in my prayers and thought:) ~Shelley O.

Charlene, I so had you and your family on my mind yesterday hoping and praying for good news. And this I believe is good news, although not simple for you all. I think your husband summed it up very well...it is not fun, but it is certainly repairable. Thank God for modern technology in the discovery of the source of the problem as well as the repair for it. I wish you all peace and a quick recovery. Adore your Guardian Angel! And your circle of prayerful friends and family will guide you all through this. Hugs, Angela

Thoughts & prayers for your hubby's surgery.
Love the guardian angel keeping watch.
My hubby had a 7 way bypass in 2005 after a heart attack and has done really well. Thanks be to God.

Charlene...my husband recently went through MAJOR heart surgery as well. I know exactly what you're going through. Let me tell you there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's a brilliant beacon that will lead both of you through this trying time. As Karen has said, medicine has come a LONG way and doctors are doing amazing things. That said, your husband sounds like he has a wonderfully positive attitude...that in itself is half the battle! I'll keep both of you tucked safely in my heart and prayers.

just me...knowin' this WILL turn out alright...jan armentrout

Charlene, thank you for the update.
Waiting is the hardest! The good news, as your husband said, is that this can be fixed. So many people are not aware of an issue like this until it is too late.
May God give your Dr. and Surgeon wisdom and insight into just what needs to be done. God Bless you both!

I know you are all worried. Open heart surgery is very difficult, but they do sooo many of them. They have to tell all the scariness, but my dad's was the best thing he'd done for himself. He felt sooo much better that he built a barn! I pray for such good followups for you guys, too. Hugs from Missouri. Love your cowgirl bling!

Hopefully you will still be able to to the event.

Charlene, I loved this post... because of the support from your sweet hubby...it's wonderful that he validates the value of your creative projects...I'm sure it is a nervous time for you, but he would feel worst if you stayed home to sit with him. The surgery will go well; he has an angel on his shoulder and he is one fine man...that's the most important message I'm taking away from reading this. Blessings.
