Diana Frey Studio Tour

SONY DSC

As promised, this is the final post about my trip to San Luis Obispo, CA & the subject today is a quick peek into the studio of Diana Frey. Artist & Teacher Extraordinaire. Her studio is in her garage. YES! Imagine being able to sit in your outside studio & NOT SWEAT TO DEATH!!!!! Since today was 106 degrees (yes, we broke the 1980 record of the most above 100 degree days in a year) so I can’t imagine. Beautiful pots of flowers grace the entrance. And Chloe her mannequin was all decked out in a new prom dress & necklace.

And Chloe had a new necklace which was shown in the recent Bell Amore Magazine. I know Cindy will LOVE the bride necklace.

One of the first things to catch your eye on the right hand side is a HUGE shelf of stamps.

Stamp Collection

No lack of inspiration here! And since we were doing PMC Silver Clay & you use stamps… The possibilities were endless.

Behind that was a favorite of mine… a chandi she made in Sally Jeans Class in Washington. I Soooooooooooooooo LOVE this & want to do one too. I think Sally Jean is doing an online class for this in January!!!!!

Let’s look at a few more of her treasures.

A doll she made in another class.

Every where you look you will find treasures!!!!

Toys collage

On this precious shelf (above) that sits right in front of her work space you can see one goody after another. On the shelf is a darling bracelet that she had made with yet another German Doll Head… Does the wonder ever end??? NO!!!!!!!!!

More wonder… Surrounded with all of this how could you not be inspired?

More Toys collage

Even inside the house the beauty continues. On her dinning room table there was the most unusual, SO DIANA, arrangement…

And on that sweet table behind this is another manni covered in creations.

Now, DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE BEEN THERE???? I am telling you that IF you have the chance to take a class from Diana… RUN! Do not walk!!!! Be there for the time of your life! Thank you precious friend for sharing your home, studio, art, & talent with all of us. And most of all… for being MY FRIEND & MY MENTOR! LOVE YOU !

Hi Charlene! This looks like a wonderful space....I love all her jewelry! And, seeing her Sally Jean chandelier brought back memories to me - I took Sally's chandelier class in Italy 3 summers ago and had a blast! My chandy is somewhat spectacular too! :)

Oh my goodness. I'd have been hyperventilating the whole time. So much glorious eye candy. I just took a couple of online Sally Jean workshops and loved them--and plan on doing the chandelier (diana's is magnificent) as well (i miss SJ now that she's moved from portland!-her studio here was awesome). But next on my must-take class list just may need to be one of Diana's!! Thanks so much for sharing your tour.

So glad you had so much fun...and what a great idea for where to put your studio!

Hope you're having a fabulous day, my friend!

Sooo many treasures, indeed! I would love to take a class from her. Of course, that would be quite difficult since I live all the way on the other side of the US. Her work is inspiring though. And I, too, love the chandi! ;)

What a wouldn't give to have a chance to visit Diane's studio! Wow! Amazing!

Now...about losing weight~

Last November an old college friend came to visit us in Oklahoma. We hadn't seen him in 30 plus years so we took tons of pics during our holiday visit. Well...I started looking at them and I truthfully didn't recognize the pictures taken of ME! I looked like someone else. That's what started me thinking about getting serious about my weight.

So, just after Christmas I went on Weight Watchers. I stayed consistent and didn't try to rush the process. By June I'd lost 40 pounds and now I've lost 42-45 on any given day. I feel great and look like an OLDER :) version of my old self! :)

Blessings...xoRebecca

So many treasures to see in her studio~ you must have been in heaven! I couldn't get any further than that wonderful embellished chandelier! What a GREAT & FUN idea! Hope you cool off soon, 106...yikes! We're hovering in the 80s so that probably sounds frigid to you in comparison~
